Aggressive ZergThe concept behind aggressive Zerg is completely different, and can be viewed as somewhat gimmicky. Because the Zerg dedicates its larva waves (from Inject Larva) to either drones or units, an early and aggressive Zerg push can be exceptionally strong, but at the same time there's no turning back. If an aggressive Zerg doesn't deal enough damage with his push, he's very far behind. Zerg units are very expendable in early game, but larva most certainly are not. A simple way to think of it is if you aren’t making drones with your larva, your economy is falling behind because your opponent is likely using their macro mechanic to pump out harvesters in the early game. If you commit to an attack, make sure it deals damage.
/Coffee's Note: Aggressive Zerg styles don't have to be just in the early game as a sacrifice to your economy. You can easily open as a macro Zerg and transition into an aggressive style with a lot of harassment and feint attacks. /End Note |
